Small fire in Pine Haven

Approximately one tenth of an acre was burned in Pine Haven at the intersection of Deer Drive and Maple Street when a truck made contact with power lines, according to Pine Haven Volunteer Fire Chief Dave Hull.

Hull reported to council Tuesday night that a dump truck driver who was preparing to lay a slab accidentally came into contact with power lines, causing sparks to fall into the very dry grass.

“The flames were mostly contained by the operator and land owner. We [firefighters with suppression truck] remained there until PreCorp completed all their repairs,” he said.

Minimal damage to property and no injuries were incurred.
