One June 28, police spoke with a young man riding his dirt bike around town. Officer advised him he was not to operate the dirt bike within the town limits on the roadway or on the walking paths.
On June 28, police received a complaint of a person camping in front of Subway. Officers spoke with the person and advised them they could not sleep in front of the business. After some arguing, they moved to the Coffee Cup. Later, officers were notified that a possible intoxicated subject was at Coffee Cup. Officer arrived and spoke to the same person who agreed to leave so to not be bothered. Nothing further.
On June 30, police were notified of a gas line being hit while digging a water line. No evacuations were necessary, Black Hills Gas responded to stop leak.
On June 30, police were notified of a stolen vehicle. Vehicle was entered into NCIC. Investigation continuing.
On July 1, police were notified by Gillette Police Department about fraudulent checks being written to businesses in Gillette and Moorcroft. Case opened.
On July 4, police were contacted in regards to a disturbance at the 12 Plex. Police were notified that a fight had taken place prior to their arrival. Police took statements and will refer case to county attorney for their determination on prosecution. Nothing further.
On July 5, police were called to a traffic crash at Donna’s Diner, a truck had driven into the front of the building. Fire and EMS called to scene also. Officer spoke with the driver of the vehicle regarding the incident. State of Wyoming traffic crash report completed.
On July 5, a juvenile came to the police department with their parent due to a text from someone trying to blackmail the juvenile. Due to the calls coming from a Texas number, Officer contacted the Wilbarger County Sheriff’s Office and gave them all of the information, transferring the report to them. Nothing further.
On July 10, during Jubilee 8 minors (under 21) were cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
