The Town of Pine Haven enjoys a new sign welcoming guests to the well-groomed, tree-lined streets of the community that sits on the west shore of Keyhole Reservoir. When the municipality received the defunct Vineyard Church building as a gift a couple of years ago, the round sign identifying the church at the corner of 113 and Pine Haven Road was part of that deal, according to Mayor John Cook.
The two-sided sign was relatively new and of a high standard so, “We just decided that we’d put up a ‘Welcome to Pine Haven’ sign on both sides of that.” The town bought the “welcome” signs, which are laid on steel cut to fit. Cook said of the result, “The work looks nice.”
He said that the council is currently researching solar-powered lighting to illuminate this welcome sign, “Letting people know, even when it’s dark, where the turn-off is and where Pine Haven is.”
