In last week’s front page article, “Variance for town property…”, a quote alluded to a citizen’s use of the procedure outlined by the United States Postal Service to create new addresses.
Moorcroft Postmaster Kim Watson would like to clarify the process for anyone who may face a similar situation in the future. To acquire a new address within town limits, “They have to go to the town and get their address there, then the town will send it to me and I send it into the Address Management System (AMS).”
For those who are building within the county, but outside a township, Watson advises, “They have to go to Crook County Growth and Development. Growth and Development will assign a 911 address and submit it to me and I put it into the AMS and that’s how they come up with their addresses.”
