April 19 - May 2
On April 19, police were contacted regarding a suspicious vehicle parked at the Pinnacle Bank. The driver of the vehicle had placed a black bag outside of their vehicle and left it there. As the officer approached the bank, the vehicle in question left the parking lot, leaving the bag behind. Officer followed the vehicle, eventually pulling it over due to the trunk being open and items falling out into the roadway. Officer contacted the occupants who stated, “they were just hanging out”. Officer advised that the bank was private property, and they were not allowed to hang out there. Officer advised the driver to return to the bank and retrieve the bag they left behind. Driver did as they were instructed and then left the area. Nothing further.
On April 19, police were called to Moorcroft High School due to a minor being caught with a vape pen and a bag of suspected drugs. Minor was charged with MIP and Reckless Endangerment. Subsequently numerous other minors were then contacted, interviewed and searched. These searches led to multiple minors, who were in possession of tobacco, being charged with MIP’s. Nothing further.
On April 20, police were requested to assist a motorist near the Moorcroft Rest Area. Officer contacted the driver who was requesting directions. Officer assisted the gentleman who then went on his way. Nothing further.
On April 21, officer was advised of a vehicle lockout at Coffee Cup. Officer was able to unlock the vehicle for the Driver.
On April 24, police were notified of a Domestic Battery that took place at the Laundromat in Moorcroft. WHP had contact with a female who was walking east on I-90, and she reported the battery to them. Officer met with WHP Trooper and the Victim at Coffee Cup. Officer took the Victims statement and information on where the Suspect may have headed. Investigation to continue.
On April 28, police were contacted by a former resident who stated that sometime around January of 2021 while living in Moorcroft a saddle was stolen from his trailer on Platte Street. Officer took the information on the saddle and will enter as stolen property.
On April 29, police were requested to assist with a pursuit coming from Campbell County. Officer joined in pursuit for a while until WHP was able to stop the vehicle. Nothing further.
On April 30, officer contacted a resident and gave them 10 days to get their three dogs and two cats licensed with the Town.
On April 30, police were contacted regarding a disturbance at the Centennial Apartment complex. Citation was issued for Breach of Peace.
On May 2, police were contacted regarding a report of a domestic battery. Upon arrival, officer met with the victim, who was mad that Law Enforcement was contacted, and EMS who was checking on victim. Officer spoke to the victim and the suspect regarding the situation. Suspect was cited for domestic battery due to the injuries to the victim.
