Haz-Matters hosted their first babysitting class last Friday and Saturday at the MTC. The 41 students, ranging in age from eight to 14, were taught CPR for infants, children and adults; first aid for all common injuries they may run into on the job; and the Heimlich maneuver.
Each graduate of this very important class was given a fully stocked first aid kit to keep. The items in these kits were donated by local businesses.
“The students were all from the Moorcroft area,” Haz-Matters associate and teacher Jen Swaney reported. “We had such a blast and we are extremely glad they all have this training [as] one of the students already had to use the information from the class while babysitting.”
The next babysitting classes will be held June 4 and 5. Anyone interested in joining this class may contact Chuck Massie at 307-391-0168.
