Lady Wolves sweep the court

On Friday, the Sundance Bulldogs came to town. The Lady Wolves got out to a quick first quarter lead and found themselves ahead, 17-7.

The second quarter was back and forth with neither team able to gain much ground and the third quarter was much the same with Moorcroft ahead, 36-27. The fourth quarter was a flurry of baskets by both teams and was exciting until the very end. The Lady Wolves were able to secure the 50-46 victory.

It is always a rivalry game when we play. I was proud of our girls and them finishing the game out the way we did.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves hosted the Tongue River Eagles. We knew going into the game they have good size and we were going to need to control the rebounding.

The game was close through the first and second quarter and the Wolves were able to take a 28-16 lead into the half. We made some adjustments on the defensive end and with our full court pressure. The second half found the Wolves able to pull away for the 54-34 victory.

I thought our defense and rebounding was key to the victory. We were patient on the offensive end and got the shots that we wanted.

Overall, it was a good weekend of games for us. We were able to make in-game adjustments on both the offensive and defensive end. This allowed us more opportunities. Defense was again a key component for us as well as our communication.

The Lady Wolves return to action on Thursday when they travel to Wright to take on Big Horn at 1:30 p.m. in the 2A District Quadrant. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
