The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
On Friday, the Lady Wolves hosted the Big Horn Lady Rams.
Moorcroft got out to a quick start and got it going on the defensive end. The Lady Wolves led, 13-2 after the first quarter and took a 33-10 lead into the half.
We made some adjustments at halftime with our offensive spacing and played a great second half. The Lady Wolves won the game, 60-17. We really have been stressing improvements on defense all week and the girls responded well.
On Saturday, the Wright Lady Panthers came to town.
Wright jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead before the Lady Wolves got their first basket. Once the first basket went in, the Lady Wolves didn’t look back. Moorcroft took a 33-14 lead into the half and won the game, 72-31.
Again, it started on the defensive end for us. We were able to get turnovers that led to baskets and that got us going.
Overall, it was a good weekend. Our communication on the defensive end is improving, leading to opportunities on the offensive end. We were able to get lots of girls quality varsity experience in both games.
The Lady Wolves end the regular season at home this weekend when they host Sundance on Friday and Tongue River on Saturday. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
