Ruth Ellen Feehan, 93, of Evanston, Wyoming, passed away January 14 in the presence of her loving family. She fought a brave and lengthy battle with rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer’s.
Ruth entered this world with a unique story. She was born on a farm by Sanish, North Dakota on April 21, 1927 to Roscoe and Mae Hadden.
Her country doctor would end up staying the night. The next day he traveled to town and recorded her birth as the 22nd, so we have celebrated her birthday on two days.
Also, her birth town no longer exists as it was moved and flooded over to create Garrison dam and renamed New Town.
She graduated from Stanley, North Dakota at 16 then enrolled in summer courses for teaching. She was hired on to be a one room schoolhouse teacher for students 1st-8th grades at 18 years old.
On October 29, 1948 Ruth married Jim Feehan in St. Paul, MN. Until her retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for the family business of Feehan Trucking.
She is preceded in death by husband, Jim and two of her brothers, Charles and Bill Hadden. She is survived by a brother, Paul Hadden, her sons, Ron Feehan and Valerie Sweeney of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Clint and Sylvia Feehan of Urie, Wyoming, Brad and Karen Feehan of Quartzhill, California, her daughter Lisa and Tom Ulrich of Cypress, Texas, 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren.
