Dylan Humes Memorial

This past weekend, the Wolves wrestling team hosted the Dylan Humes Memorial Dual Tournament in remembrance and to honor their past teammate Dylan Humes who they lost too early in 2018. Dylan was and always will be a huge part of the Wolves wrestling team as past wrestler, teammate and coach.

Teams came from across the state to compete in three duals each day. They included Moorcroft, Hulett, Thunder Basin, Campbell County, Thermopolis, Newcastle-Upton, Glenrock, Lusk, Wright, Natrona, Greybull and Shoshoni. The duals were hosted in three locations, the high school, the K8 and the Moorcroft Town Center to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions and allotted spectators.

Moorcroft and Hulett wrestling teams combined to fill the open weights classes for each dual. Together, they went 6-0 for the two days of duals going up against Lusk, Glenrock, Thunder Basin JV, Campbell County JV, Greybull and Thermopolis.

Highlights and crowd favorites for the Wolves were Shane Hannah with his come-from-behind victories and Sterling Norris for his drive and competitive nature in all matches.

Next up for the Wolves are the duals in Wheatland on Friday and a home Quad on Saturday the 30th against Burns, Buffalo and Wheatland.

This will also be Senior Recognition Day recognizing the Wolves’ three seniors, Sean Buckmiller, Hunter Garoutte and Dekken Mayer.

Sean Buckmiller is the son of Dustin and Melissa Buckmiller, wrestling the 113 pound weight class; Dekken Mayer is the son of Joe and Heather Mayer, wrestling at 195 pounds; and Hunter Garoutte is the son of Matt and Amanda Garoutte, wrestling 182 pounds.
