Moorcroft Police Report

On December 29, police assisted a motorist who locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access for the owner. Nothing further.

On December 29, police assisted a motorist whose vehicle broke down on Highway 14 just past the First Southern Baptist Church. Driver was able to move the vehicle off of the road while waiting for help to come tow it. Nothing further.

On January 1, police assisted a motorist who locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access for the owner. Nothing further.

On January 1, police received a report of a stolen truck out of Guernsey, Wyoming that was possibly traveling westbound on Highway 16 toward Moorcroft. Officer staged at the intersection of Converse/Highway 16 and Tongue River to await the truck’s arrival. Weston County SO located the vehicle and followed it to the Moorcroft Officer’s location where the suspect then stopped for law enforcement. Vehicle was placed into evidence and towed to Moorcroft Police Department. Suspect was placed in custody and transported to Crook County Detention Center. Upon arrival in Sundance, officer transported Suspect to Crook County Medical Center due to possible methamphetamine overdose. Officer released suspect to medical care staff at the hospital and cited suspect for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
