December 21 - 27
On December 22, police responded to a vicious dog call where the victim had been bitten. Officer arrived and spoke with the victim who showed the officer the wounds on their arm from the animal. Victim refused medical attention and gave the officer the description of the animal who attacked him. Officer made contact with the owner of the animal who was cited for vicious animal. Owner also was cited twice for dog at large and twice for failure to license animal, as they have two animals who were running at large and unlicensed through the town. Nothing further at this time.
On December 23, officer responded to a call of an elderly female who had fallen and needed assistance. Officer contacted the female who stated she had accidently hit the button and was not needing assistance. Officer cleared call.
On December 26, officer was contacted by Campbell County Hospital in reference to an animal bite that took place in Moorcroft. Officer made contact with the victim who was unable to describe the dog and no one was around as a witness to the attack. Victim was being treated for their wounds. Nothing further at this time.
On December 26, police were advised of a vehicle abandoned at a local business. Officer arrived and ran registration to attempt to locate the owner. Officer tried to contact the owner with no success. Business advised they would wait the weekend to see if the owner picked up the vehicle, if not it would be towed. Nothing further.
On December 27, while patrolling police noticed a male and a female walking into a house with flashlights and then leave the house carrying boxes. They then got into a vehicle and left. Officer followed the individuals and then conducted a traffic stop and asked what they were doing. They both advised they had permission from the homeowner to get things from the house. The male had the homeowner on the phone giving them permission to remove the items from the home. Nothing further at this time.
On December 27, police were contacted regarding a man entering a home without permission. Complainant was able to give police a description of the vehicle. Officer searched the area, found the vehicle and made contact with the driver. Driver was a process server who was attempting to contact someone at the residence. When he knocked on the door the door came open and he stepped inside to grab the door to shut it. Officer was able to verify the driver worked for the process serving company and advised him not to enter someone’s home at anytime without permission. Officer later contacted the homeowner and explained what happened. Nothing further.
