The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves traveled over to Basin to battle the Riverside Rebels. It was a hard-fought battle with the pack starting the game by scoring on a 12-yard pass from Zane Linder to Lane Wood.
Linder ran another one in from four yards out to give the Wolves a 12-0 lead early on in the game, but Riverside settled into their offense and fought their way back into the game.
A few critical injuries weakened the Wolves physically, but not mentally. They would score in the fourth quarter on a short pass from Linder to Wood again and Wood took it 60 yards for the score. Moorcroft was unable to make a comeback in their trip to Basin and fell to the Rebels 28-20.
The Wolves fought well, though, with 32 rushing attempts for 65 yards and a touchdown and 30 pass attempts for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
The team will cap off their season with a home game against Pine Bluffs Friday, October 23 at 5 p.m.
