The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
Ghouls, goblins, princesses and pirates are setting out their best outfits and preparing their potions of love and fright for the Halloween parties next weekend!
The first is Trick or Treat Street on Friday, October 30 in the Moorcroft Town Center gymnasium. This annual party, hosted by Moorcroft Elementary Parent Advisory, Moorcroft Police Department and the community’s citizens and businesses, includes a creepy cakewalk, games, a “not so spooky” spook house for those faint of heart and a frightful haunted house belonging to a mad master, whose experiments have gone horribly wrong, for the ghastly pleasure of the more ghoulish guests. Screams start at 5 p.m. and those who survive the festivities can leave at 8.
Now, for the little lambs who want a bit more in the bat wing and broomstick persuasion, the celebration of All Hallows Eve continues on the very night itself. The Pine Haven Halloween Bash welcomes company to the party at the Pine Haven Community Center at 3 Industrial Drive on Saturday, October 31. The fun starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until 3 so that visitors with other obligations can find their meals… er…neighbors home.
The merriment includes decorating (and eating) mini pumpkins, a mystery Halloween touch and feel table and, of course, goodie bags and prepackaged refreshments. The Town of Pine Haven, sponsor of this revelry, assures guests that no creature will leave with an empty tummy.
“It’s rumored,” smiles one undisclosed source, “that a well-stuffed tummy adds to the sweetness of the meal.”
The hosts of both of these events want a safe environment for kids to play and enjoy the festivities so they ask, please, if you are feeling unwell, don’t risk your neighbors and friends – stay home.
