The Moorcroft Council has been discussing tearing down the abandoned municipal water tower at the north end of Belle Fourche Avenue. However, to do so would indefinitely interrupt service for all local Visionary customers as the receiver stationed on top of that tank is specifically placed at the optimal height for connection with the surrounding area and at this time no other structure is comparable, according to Visionary spokesman Greg Wortham.
The town reached out to the communication company explaining the situation, resulting in a request from Visionary to take over the maintenance of said tank to ensure safety and when either they no longer need it or the structure actually does not pass scheduled checks, the company will assume all costs of tearing it down and removing the materials.
At Monday night’s meeting, Wortham addressed the governing body to clarify final details of a contract to this agreement.
