First road win for Wolves

The Moorcroft Wolves traveled down to Saratoga for a Saturday afternoon game over the weekend. Looking for the first road win of the season, the pack was determined to keep their strong start moving in the right direction.

The Wolves stopped the Panthers on the first drive through excellent tackling by Hunter Garoutte, who led the team with ten tackles. The Panthers would score later in the first quarter to bring the score to 6-0.

In the second quarter, the defenses started to give. Moorcroft scored on a Zane Linder three yard rush.

After the successful two-point conversion, the score was in favor of the Wolves, 8-6. Then, right before the end of the first half, the Panthers scored in the final seconds on a 10-yard pass and catch. The score was 12-8 at halftime.

In the second half, the Wolves scored on a 5-yard rush by Linder to bring the score to 16-12. Linder had 19 rushes for 47 yards on the day.

The pack capped off the day by a Garoutte 1-yard touchdown run. Garoutte would lead the team in rushing with 20 carries for 90 yards and one touchdown.

Zane Linder led the team in passing with 55 yards; Hunter Garoutte had three sacks on defense; Lane Wood and Zane Linder added two interceptions on defense and Kyler Smith sacked the quarterback twice as well.
