Lady Wolves howl in victory as season begins

The Lady Wolves were excited to start their volleyball season after a long few months off of school and sports due to COVID-19. The team went 3-0 to start the season off for 2020.

Facing Pine Bluffs first, the Wolves came out with the win in three sets, Moorcroft 3 Pine 0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-19). Next, they met Niobrara County in Lusk and once again got the sweep in three sets, Moorcroft 3 Lusk 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-17).

The next day, the pack went to Southeast to win the match, Moorcroft 3 Southeast 1 (25-16, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19).

The team sat down and picked out four main words that represent our team this year and the top word is perseverance. This has been a challenging year so far for our team and community.

Many families and players were impacted in several different ways this spring. We couldn’t have an AAU season last spring, and many of our athletes are multi-sport athletes who could not compete in any sports on top of having virtual schooling to end the year.

We have overcome some challenges along the way and have done our best to prepare as a team for this school year and volleyball season. This is a positive team and we have some strong senior captions, Tianne Fischbach, Alyssa Merchen and Teagan Timberman, to lead the way. We are excited for the season and happy to be together again!
