Show and Shine has successful second year

The second annual Show and Shine car show in Pine Haven, hosted by Lakeview Carwash owners Mark and Sharon Coleman was a great hit last Saturday with over 200 guests and 63 entries.

There were vendors selling beer and snacks, but lunch was prepared and served by Mark and friend Kelly Lang, who cooked brisket, hamburgers and hotdogs throughout the day’s event to feed the hungry contestants and visitors, according to Sharon.

Show and Shine categories and winners are as follows:

People’s choice

(Pre ’75): First Place - Bob Maynard, 1955 Chevy truck; Second Place - Mark Coleman, 1969 Chevrolet Yenko; and Third Place - Bill Mercer, 1968 Chevy Truck.

Jeep: First Place - Dustin and Drea Switzer, 1999 Jeep and Second Place - Kelly Lang, 1977 AMC.

After 75: First - Ron and Steph Mummert, 1979 Dodge Warlock; Second - Mark Coleman, 2017 Grand Grand Sport; and Third - Mark Coleman, ZL1 Camero.

Motor cycle: First Place - Bill Mercer, 2014 Road Glide; Second - TC Mulloy, 2015 Road glide; and Third - Robin Glasser, 2009 Suzuki trike.

Judges choice

PRE 75: First - Mark Coleman, 1969 Yenko; Second - Tim and Alicia [last name unknown], 1971 Chevy; and Third - Lenny Skillingstad, 1947 Chevy Fleetmaster.

After 75: First - Ron and Steph Mummert, 1979 Dodge Warlock; Second - Mark Coleman, 2017 Gransport Corvette; and Third - Mark Coleman, ZL1 Camero. 

Jeep: First - Dustin and Drea Switzer, 1997 Jeep and Second - Kelly Lang, 1977 Jeep. 

Sharon later said of the affair, “It was just an amazing day for Pine Haven and Lakeview Carwash [and] we are already looking forward to next year.”
