Ambulance gets its gurney

EMT Barb Hardy reported to the Pine Haven Town Council at Last Tuesday’s meeting that, after more than three years working toward getting a motorized gurney for the town ambulance, the goal has been achieved.

The hydraulic gurney will provide a safer operating system for the first responders. “It is to mitigate the lifting and possible injuries of our EMTs and firefighters who have to lift the gurney. It’s a safety issue.”

EMS has been working diligently through fundraising events and seeking grants to cover the nearly $40,500 cost of the equipment and installation and with a 50/50 matching grant from the State of Wyoming and the generous contributions received at the fundraisers over the last couple of years, they have done just that.

This long-awaited tool has finally arrived and was installed last week; the EMS team and firefighters had their first training on the proper use of the new equipment Monday night.
