Moorcroft Police Report

July 6-12

On July 6, police assisted a resident with a civil standby.

On July 7, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On July 8, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On July 9, police conducted 60 portable breath tests (PBT) for Moorcroft High School prom at the Town Center.

On July 10, police were notified of a gas drive-off from Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer was able to locate the person from their license plate number and the person immediately returned to pay for the fuel as it was an accident.

On July 10, police issued a 30 day notice for junk ordinance violation.

On July 11, a traffic stop resulted in a citation for Minor in Possession of Tobacco.

On July 11, a traffic stop resulted in citations for Minor in Possession of Tobacco and Possession of a Controlled Substance – plant form.

On July 11, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On July 11, officers made contact with a group of juveniles that appeared to be arguing. While speaking with the juveniles, officers detected an odor of burnt marijuana. All juveniles denied any knowledge of marijuana then later stated that the vehicle they were in smelled of marijuana. Officers asked for consent to search and were granted permission. Officers did not find anything related to marijuana or the use thereof.

On July 11, police received a report of a little girl on a bike that was missing. Officers began searching the area for the child and speaking with people in the area. Officers were advised there were younger kids riding bikes on S. Big Horn Ave. Officers went to the area and located a girl matching the description of the missing child. Officers confirmed the child was in fact the one reported missing and escorted the child back to their parent.

On July 11, police were contacted regarding a suspicious activity taking place. Officer spoke with the complainants who advised they were being approached by a man several times asking for money. Officer spoke with the man bothering the couple and advised him to stop.

On July 12, police were contacted in reference to underage drinking at Jubilee. Officer made contact with the group of juveniles in question. One of the juveniles admitted to having a beer and agreed to a Portable Breath Test (PBT). The minor was subsequently cited for Minor Under the Influence of Alcohol.

On July 12, while on foot patrol officers detected the odor of marijuana which subsequently led to citations for Possession of a Controlled Substance – plant form and Possession of a Controlled Substance – liquid form.

On July 12, police arrested a suspect for DUI. Suspect transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On July 12, while conducting an investigation of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a male subject began to interfere with the investigation. Subject was subsequently cited for Interference with a Peace Officer.
