The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
Chip Neiman, current chairman of the Crook County Republican Party, has announced his candidacy for Wyoming House District 1 in the upcoming Republican Primary election to be held August 18, 2020.
Neiman currently serves on the Crook County Weed and Pest Board, has served on the Crook County School board, Hulett Airport Advisory Board, Greater Hulett Community Center Board, Hulett Assembly of God Board of Trustees/Deacons, Vocations for Orphans Trustee and numerous other servant positions, from Crook County 4-H Livestock Judging coach to serving with his wife Joni as teen youth leaders at Hulett Assembly of God.
“My leadership in the county serves as a record of my commitment to traditional family values, private property rights, fiscal responsibility and the Constitution,” Neiman said in a press release.
“As we emerge from the current man-made crisis, we must do so with a laser focus on keeping our Constitutionally granted freedoms intact.”
Neiman has developed a reputation in the county for his insistence on remaining fiscally responsible. “We must reduce the size of government. I believe we are responsible to the taxpayers to respect them through conservative and responsible use of their hard- earned money,” he says.
“I have been involved in agriculture all of my life and understand intimately the struggles of making ends meet and will take that understanding with me wherever I go. Taxes take away freedom and uncontrolled spending undermine us as a nation. New taxes are an unacceptable alternative to fiscal responsibility and restraint. Debt is a master we do not want. We must live within our means and stop spending money we don’t have. I have proven this in my life and will not change.”
Neiman was born and raised in Crook and Weston counties and expressed that he sees a bright future ahead for District 1.
“Joni and I have chosen to raise our children here because, well, I just can’t imagine a place better than District 1. We love it here and as I now have the chance to watch my grandchildren grow up I am overwhelmed with the sense of duty to give them the opportunity to grow up with the freedoms and opportunity which I hold so dear,” he said.
“We have an incredible state with an even brighter future if we are willing to make the hard decisions and keep our eyes on the path forward. I commit to do just that!”
