Moorcroft Police Report

May 17 - 24

On May 18, police arrested a suspect on a criminal warrant out of Crook County. Suspect was transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On May 18, Police Clerk gave Emergency Fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On May 19, police were notified of an aggressive dog on Park Street. Upon arrival dog was gone. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the dog.

On May 19, police were contacted regarding vandalism. Officer made contact with the victim whose vehicle had been vandalized. Officer took photographs of the damage to the vehicle and made a report of the damage done.

On May 19, police were contacted regarding someone disturbing the peace and suspicious activity on South Yellowstone. Police arrived in the area and met with the subject causing the problems. Subject was intoxicated, officer told them to go back into their residence and stay inside the rest of the night.

On May 20, police were advised of a traffic complaint on Highway 16 headed toward Moorcroft. Officers waited for the vehicle to come into town but were not able to make contact with any vehicles matching the description of the complaint.

On May 21, police assisted Moorcroft K-8 with traffic control for their end of the year awards parade.

On May 22, police clerk gave Emergency Fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On May 22, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service with an emergency call.

On May 22, during a traffic stop for speeding, officer searched the vehicle and found suspected marijuana. Officer issued passenger a citation for possession of a controlled substance plant form less than 3 ounces. Driver was cited for speeding.

On May 22, police were dispatched to a fire behind Glenn Construction. Officer arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the engine compartment of a truck. Officer used fire extinguisher and helped put out the rest of the fire. Fire Department arrived to assess the situation. Once cleared by Fire, truck was moved, and Officer cleared call.
