On May 5, officer contacted a contractor doing work within town limits who was not licensed with the town to do so. Officer advised the contractor they could go to town hall to obtain the license necessary. Nothing further.
On May 6, Police Clerk gave Emergency Fund assistance to a traveler in need.
On May 7, police were notified that someone was illegally dumping trash in dumpsters in the alley of the 300 block of S. Belle Fourche. Trash had already been collected at the time of the report.
On May 8, police were contacted in reference to an animal complaint. Officer spoke with the complainant who stated their neighbors’ dog would jump the fence and charge at them when they exited their residence. Officer was unable to contact the owner of the dog but will continue until owner is advised of the situation.
On May 8, officer delivered paperwork from Crook County Public Health to four businesses in town.
On May 8, police were notified of a possible scam taking place. Officer spoke with the complainant and took the information.
On May 8, police received a call from a frantic mother who was unable to find her small child. At the same time, another call came in regarding a young child walking up near the ballfield alone pushing a bicycle. Officer responded to the ballfield and located the child. A few minutes later the mother arrived and confirmed it was her child. Officer cleared.
On May 8, officer assisted Department of Family Services case worker during a home interview.
On May 9, police spoke with a resident about a junk ordinance violation.
On May 10, police were notified of a young child walking alone headed toward the highway. Officer began searching the area for the child and requested Moorcroft Fire Dept assist. A short time later, the child’s mother advised that the child was found safe. Officer went to the mother’s residence to speak with her about the incident.
On May 10, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.
