Pine Haven ice rink opens for winter fun

Pine Haven public works has been working on improving the town’s ice rink by installing a liner to create a smoother and more contained area for the water to freeze. The remaining parts to complete the rink in Waters Park arrived last week and were immediately set in place by Public Works Director Sunny Schell, Councilwoman Karla Brandenburg and volunteer Terri Mitchell last Wednesday morning.

The rink took the rest of the day to fill, but the icy playground is well worth the wait. The entire rink will be emptied, rolled up and stored for next season when the warmer climes arrive and the space becomes once again a basketball court.
