The West River Tournament had the Wolves paired off with the Hot Springs Bison. This game brought some energy to the Wolves as they were able to contain the Bison to a low score for the entire game with some good team defense. The Wolves would come out on top with a score of 51 to 27.
The second round definitely gave the Wolves some challenges with a good athletic team in the Wall Eagles. This game went back and forth with the score staying close, but the Eagles would hold on and beat the Wolves, 63-53, putting the Wolves in play for third and fourth place game.
The third round action had the Wolves playing a team 20 miles to the east of them in the Upton Bobcats. This game also stayed very close until the Wolves hit a wall in the fourth quarter where nothing seemed to fall for them. The Bobcats would win, 70-46.
All weekend, the Wolves continued to improve and they are showing a lot of gains each and every game. Moorcroft player Lane Wood was awarded a place with the West River All Tournament Team while at the event.
Moorcroft’s Wolves travel to Big Horn and Wright this weekend to start conference play.
