Lady Wolves basketball team: making the effort and taking the win

The Moorcroft Lady Wolves traveled to Edgemont, SD to take on the Lady Moguls on Thursday night. The JV team got the night off on a good note with a 39-32 victory.

Coach Arlie Hulm was pleased with the girls’ effort. We did a lot of good things and, defensively, we got the stops we needed at the end of the game to help secure the victory. 

The Varsity team followed that up with a win of their own; after a slow start that saw neither team score for the first two minutes, the Lady Wolves turned it up and finished the first quarter ahead, 23-4, and took a lead into the half at 32-12. Things tightened up a bit in the second half scoring wise and the Lady Wolves closed out the game with a 44-21 victory.

It was another complete team effort. We are playing nine girls and they all are contributing in ways that best help the team.

We have a group of kids that put the team above all else. They are a tight group that enjoy being around each other and that shows on the floor.

The Wolves are off until their first home contest on January 4, 2020, when they take on the Hulett Red Devils. The junior varsity game starts at 1:30 p.m. and Varsity game at 3.
