Kathryn Kinsall

Kathryn Kinsall, 57, of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Crook County Memorial Hospital in Sundance after a battle with cancer.

On February 20, 1962, as John Glenn was orbiting the earth, Kathryn “Kat” was born to Lester and Arlene Mauch in Sundance. She was their fourth and last child.

Kat grew and matured in Sundance, graduating from Sundance schools. She spent a few years moving first to California, Texas, Georgia and back to Sundance. She married Edward Kinsall on May 20, 1994 and they made their home in Sundance.

Kat’s first goal was reached when she achieved her Associate of Applied Arts degree from Black Hills State University. She was employed at several jobs in Sundance, her favorite being at Teen Challenge. Her nature was always to be helping others with a smile and positive outlook.

Kat had an adventurous side, always looking for something new to try. She loved life and didn’t want to miss anything, frequently getting her lifelong friend, Helen, to go along with her new and wild ideas.

Kat looked for a reason to be in nature and especially enjoyed camping and “tubing” at Sand Creek with friends. She spent many days helping her brother cutting firewood and finding other reasons to be in the great outdoors.

She was most happy when surrounded by her pets, frequently calling her house “the zoo”. Over the years, she had numerous dogs, cats and birds.

She loved music and was proud of her brothers’ musical abilities. She was active in the Sundance Community Church, often selecting music for the next service.

Kat is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Edward Kinsall; her brothers, Steven Sr. and Dennis Mauch, all of Sundance; her sister, Cheryl Bullock of California; three nephews and one niece.

Her beautiful smile will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the Sundance Community Church in Sundance. Inurnment will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance. Online condolences may be written at http://www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com.
