Remembering those who fought
By: Annie Massie – Sixth grade
Thank you for the time you served
Thank you for the freedom earned
Thank you for the job well done
Thank you for the battle won
Some on sea and some on land
We want to give them a hand
Some young and some old
Some brave and some bold
Today we say thank you to people that fought
We want them to know that they are not forgot
We are glad to not have to worry about war
We are glad you guys do this very big chore
Army, navy, marines, air force too
We thank them for the red, white and blue
Today we raise flags
And march at some parades
To celebrate the old days
Thank you for what you done
We are glad war is won
Brave and Willing Veterans
By: Lily Mckim - Seventh grade
Our thanks to you
For all the things you do
Defending our flag
The Red, the White and the Blue
We are free
Americans know what freedom means
The joy, the peace, and the right to dream
Just because of the people in black and green
We are free
Our thoughts are with you through the long days
As you fight so far away
We all stand up to say
We are free
Thank You Veterans
By: Madison Gromann - Eighth grade
To our soldiers young and old
Fought for freedom, brave and bold
Some have died, while some have lived
Either way they deserve pride
We want to honor all who
Were thinking of the red, white and blue
They fought for America brave and strong
They fought for our rights and freedom too
You’re always remembered
For we can never forget
The sacrifice you gave
So that others could live and be free
Without fear but with hope
There is nothing strong enough
Not a hug, smile, or a word
But with a thank you to all
I have nothing strong enough
To thank you for what you have done
You are in my thoughts
You are in my prayers
You are my hero
Just remember that either way there is always a thank you
Remembering Veterans
By: Renae Norris
Disasters striking
Heroes are fighting
While some are at sea
Others will walk free
Several have died
All deserve our pride
All the battles they have fought
Our freedom has been bought
As the bombs blast
Freedom still lasts
We honor all who stayed to save
We still honor them in the grave
While some gave all, all gave some
You deserve that job well done
We’re proud of all the soldiers too,
Hurrah! The Red, White and the Blue!
As we all know what freedom means
Some are children and some are teens
We look up to you, for you know how
As we are still standing here right now
On Veterans Day we honor all
Who answered to a service call
We give them all what they’re due
From service to me and you
