Artists 'draw' large crowd

Over 100 people gathered on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the MK8 gymnasium for Literacy Night. Students and guests enjoyed viewing art work by local artists Sarah Rogers, Viktoriia Peterson, Bruce Speidel, all from Sundance, Kasey Stroud, MHS Art teacher, and JB King, of Moorcroft.

The artists explained their work and answered questions from the audience.

Following a 12-minute rotation at each artists’ table, students participated in a “hands-on” drawing session hosted by the Parent Advisory group, where kids wrote and illustrated their own booklet. Participants were able to select free books at the conclusion of the evening.

Family members were also able to experience this unique opportunity to interact first hand with five professional artists right here in our school!
