Spooks, scares and plenty of treats

The guide led the unsuspecting victi… sorry, visitors into the dark interior of the wax museum, assuring them of the harmlessness of the exhibits. As does every good horror show begin, so too did the haunted house tour on the infamous Trick or Treat Street last Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, as is usually the case in such situations, above the wax museum there was laughter and merry making. The MTC gymnasium filled quickly as guests and their parents bought their tickets before making their rounds of the games and goodies.

There were many very cool costumes; one favorite was the “Man Who Wasn’t There” from the Hughes Mearns poem, which begins: “Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn’t there! He wasn’t there again today, Oh how I wish he’d go away.”

There were no later reports of missing persons associated with the festivities and no untidy bodies left over after the volunteers cleared out the downstairs, so either everyone made it home alright or the cleaning crew was really good!
