Lady Wolves win Conference

October is breast cancer awareness month. On Thursday, October 17, the Lady Wolves played Sundance and wore pink in honor of breast cancer awareness.

The players fund-raised money for Deb Norris, who is the grandmother to Kaylee Terry, a sophomore on the volleyball team. Deb is battling breast cancer currently. The team and community raised over $1300 with the silent auction and the “Block Out Cancer” night where the Lady Wolves had 15 blocks.

The Wolves faced the #2 ranked Sundance Bulldogs in a close match up, Sundance 3 Moorcroft 1 (25-13, 25-22, 26-28, 25-13). I am very proud of our team for stepping up to the plate and competing with one of the best teams in the state.

We played together as a team and with confidence, even taking Sundance a set. This tough match up will help us prepare for our future match ups at regionals.

On Saturday, October 19, the Wolves defeated the Big Horn Rams, Moorcroft 3 Big Horn 1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22). This was the first conference game the Lady Wolves has won in the last three years. This win was a big goal for us as a team, and will help us as we continue to work hard for our post season.

Talissa Fischbach had six aces in the match; Char Cranston had 12 kills; Camlyn Connally and Lizzie Peterson with 7 kills and 2 blocks each; and Kailee Gill had 30 assists. This team win helps our momentum as we move forward to finish out the conference play for the season.

I am very proud of the team working together and making big improvements this season. We will continue to work hard and keep working to meet our goals.
