September 23 - 29
On September 23, while on patrol, officer observed two male subjects loading materials from a property in town into the back of a truck. Officer knew that neither of the males were the owner of the property, so the officer stopped and made contact with them. Officer identified the two males and was told by them that they had purchased the material from the building owner and had permission to take it. Officer contacted the owner of the building who confirmed what the men were stating was fact. Nothing further.
On September 23, officer was notified of two females near Noonan Park attempting to break into a vehicle. Officer responded and located two females near a white Jeep. Officer made contact with the females, one of whom stated the Jeep belonged to her. Officer confirmed with dispatch that the owner of the Jeep was present and cleared the call.
On September 23, officer assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Deputy on a welfare check.
On September 24, police clerk gave Emergency Fund assistance to someone in need.
On September 25, police were notified of recent thefts from the Moorcroft High School locker room. Investigation is continuing.
On September 26, police were contacted by Moorcroft K8 regarding three juveniles who had been caught with vapes. Officer responded and all three juveniles were cited for Minor in Possession of Tobacco – Vape.
On September 29, police were contacted in reference to a hit and run at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer made contact with the victim and witnesses and was given license plate information on the vehicle that left the scene. Officer was able to make contact with the owner of the truck who later met up with the officer and gave his statement and also provided the officer with valid insurance information. Nothing further.
On September 29, police assisted with a civil standby.
On September 29, police were contacted in reference to a dog that was left behind at a rental house when the renters moved out. Officer made contact with the owner of the rental and they stated the renters had given the dog to a friend who lives in town and the dog runs back to the rental house when it gets loose. The dog will be taken back to its new owners. Nothing further.
