Top ten placements for cross country girls

The Wolves traveled to Sheridan for the Michelle Ludwig Invite Cross Country Meet this weekend.  The three ladies who competed at the race fought howling winds and chilly conditions and pressed on to place in the top ten, earning a meet T-shirt.

Mallory Jones came in third place out of 104 runners with the time of 12:24.02 in the middle school 3000 meter race; Hailey Jones ran next and came in fourth place out of 52 runners with the time of 19:57.17 in the varsity 5000 meter race; Katelynn Blakeman ran in the JV race following the varsity races and came in seventh place out of 40 runners with the time of 23:43.79. All three girls improved their course time.

These runners are improving each week and, with luck on our side, we can keep them healthy for the remainder of the season.

The Wolves will compete in the Rapid City Middle School and High School Invite on Friday September 27 and on Saturday, October 5, the Wolves Cross Country runners will compete at the Brittany Rentas Memorial Cross Country Invitational in Wright, which includes a preschool to third grade race and a fourth-fifth grade race for the future cross country runners.

Hope to see you there.
