The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) will be hosting their Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Friday, October 18, at the Moorcroft Town Center. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7; at this time, the chamber will announce the Moorcroft Citizen of the Year and the Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year.
Ballot boxes will be located at Diehl’s Supermarket, Pinnacle Bank, Post Office, Donna’s Diner, West Texas Trail Museum, Moorcroft Public Library and Moorcroft Town Hall beginning September 6. People will have until October 1 to cast their votes.
The Business of the Year is traditionally a member of MACC. The Citizen of the Year may be a deserving member in the community, but not necessarily a member of MACC. MACC also considers a member in the community for the honorable Lifetime Achievement Award.
The goal of the Moorcroft Chamber is to be an organization for the purpose of advancing commercial, industrial and civic interest within the city of Moorcroft and its surrounding area. MACC is actively present in the community, supporting businesses and reaching out to the public.
Jubilee is an example of an event MACC sponsors, creating a positive atmosphere for the community as they celebrate Moorcroft Days. MACC sponsors ribbon cuttings for new businesses or businesses that have made changes within their company.
Recently, MACC welcomed new Chamber members Moorcroft Dental Clinic and Healing Hearts Home Health. During August, MACC hosted the Rib Fest Rally, an event that attracts Sturgis Rally bikers and locals, as well.
A main event coming up in November is the Harvest “Feastival” which raises money to conduct the benevolent Christmas Basket Project. These are just a few of the many happenings MACC is responsible for in Moorcroft and the surrounding community.
Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes citizens to join this active and worthwhile organization. People don’t have to own a business to belong to MACC, they can join individually or as an employee of a business and, of course, as a business. MACC welcomes input, ideas and involvement.
