Tenth Annual Heritage Round-Up

West Texas Trail Museum (WTTM) in conjunction with the Moorcroft Historical Society (MHS) invites the public to attend the Tenth Annual Heritage Round Up at West Texas Trail Museum on Saturday, September 14, from 5 until 9 p.m.

The Heritage Round-Up will host several activities to enjoy including a forging demonstration by Voy Cox, rope making by Monte Reichenberg, butter churning by Allison and Clara White, saddle cleaning by Charlene Huckins, pallet flag art creations by Donna Ricks and Mary Joslyn and a Dutch Oven demonstration by JB King.

Hugh Jenkins will not only play his fiddle, but will be on hand to conduct horse and buggy rides throughout the evening and Doug Mikkelsen will have his extraordinary sheepherder wagon on display. There will also be plenty of live music throughout the evening presented by Jerry Sheppersen, Matt Avery, Hugh Jenkins and Kellen Smith. Besides all these activities, there will be a silent auction and a pie auction for your pleasure.

The Chuck Wagon supper will begin at 6 p.m., deliciously prepared by Monte Reichenberg and this year’s menu features hearty chili, cornbread, fry bread, salads, brownies and ice cream, lemonade and iced tea; adult beverages will also be available.

Tickets can be purchased from any MHS board member, by contacting WTTM director Cynthia Clonch at 307-756-9300, or at the door. All proceeds will benefit your historical West Texas Trail Museum, keeping the heritage of Moorcroft and the surrounding area alive and meaningful.
