August 12 - 18
On August 12, police received a report of a man and woman fighting in the middle of the road at the intersection of Converse and Yellowstone, officers made contact with the man and woman and they were subsequently both arrested, the man for Domestic Assault and the woman for Domestic Battery. Both were transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.
On August 12, police clerk gave Emergency Fund assistance to travelers in need.
On August 12, police received a call from a business that had been given a counterfeit $100 bill. Police gathered information from the business regarding the passer of the counterfeit bill. Investigation is continuing.
On August 13, officer was contacted by the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a domestic disturbance on 1-90 eastbound above Hwy 14. Vehicles were located on 1-90, Exit 153, overpass, east bound lane. Officer made contact with occupants of both vehicles as they were traveling together. Turned out to be a verbal argument between sisters. Nothing further.
On August 13, police were contacted in reference to a missing child. While searching around town, police received a call about a young boy wandering alone in the area of Semlek Drive. Officer went to the area and located the child. Officer transported the child home, Nothing further.
On August 14, police received a complaint from the Public Works Director about a vehicle going around cones where street was closed by the company repairing streets. Officer spoke to the driver and advised them to go around or they could receive a citation. They agreed to go around. Nothing further.
On August 15, police received an alarm call for a local business. Officer responded and called the business owner and they said they looked at the video and saw nothing out of order. Officer checked doors and windows at the business and nothing was disturbed. False alarm.
On August 15, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.
On August 16, police were requested to provide backup for Crook County Sheriff’s Office on 1-90. Officer responded and stood by for backup while Deputy was on the stop. Nothing further.
On August 16, police were contacted in reference to a gas line that had been hit and was leaking in Ellis Trailer Park. Officer responded to the scene and stood by until fire units arrived along with Gas Company.
On August 16, police were contacted in reference to a man stalking/harassing a woman. Officer located the man watching the woman and advised him that he needed to stop following her around as he could be arrested for stalking or harassing. Officer then made contact with the woman and advised her that the man was advised to stop following and harassing her. Officer then patrolled the area to make sure the man had left town. Nothing further at this time.
On August 17, police received a report of an adult male zip tied in the back of a van at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Upon officer’s arrival, the reporting party advised the van was leaving the parking lot. Officer observed the van headed toward the exit and officer conducted traffic stop. Officer asked the driver to open the side door and explained why. Driver opened the vehicle door and officer observed a Passenger zip tied to the seat. Driver was subsequently arrested for Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult and transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.
On August 17, police were contacted in reference to a truck parked at the Coffee Cup diesel pumps that had been there for approximately half hour. Reporting person believed the truck may be stolen. Officer arrived on scene and located the truck with the same license plate that was provided. Officer made contact with the driver. The Driver stated that they put 15 gallons of gas into the truck instead of diesel and advised they had someone on the way to help. Truck was not stolen. Nothing further.
On August 18, police were contacted in reference to three males walking around the railroad buildings. Officer arrived in the area and were advised the subjects were leaving the area headed toward the park. Officer made contact with the juvenile males and asked what they were doing and they advised walking around the railroad building. Officer advised them of trespassing and spoke to the parents of all three boys. Officer released all three of them with a verbal warning for trespassing.

August 19 - 25
On August 19, someone brought in a wallet that was found at a park in town. Owner of wallet came and picked it up from the police department.
On August 19, police were contacted in reference to a semi truck weaving in and out of its lane of travel on I-90. Truck exited the interstate and went into Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer made contact with the driver who stated that he was tired and stopped at Coffee Cup so he could get some sleep. Officer advised to pull over earlier next time as he could have caused a serious accident.
On August 22, police assisted Powell Department of Family Services in attempting to locate a forensic interviewer in the area.
On August 22, police were contacted by Moorcroft High School about a disturbance that occurred. Officer went to the high school and discussed the incident with the principal.
On August 22, police were contacted in reference to a two-vehicle crash in the student parking at the Moorcroft High School. Officer arrived in the parking lot and spoke with the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash. No citations issued.
On August 23, two police units assisted with a funeral escort.
On August 23, police were contacted by Burlington Northern Santa Fe, in reference to an individual taking pictures along the railroad tracks near South Yellowstone Ave. Officer arrived in the area and found six people sitting in Robinson Park, one of whom fit the description given by BNSF. The group advised they were traveling and stopped at the park for break and one of the males was taking photos of the buildings and tracks. Officer cleared, nothing suspicious going on.
On August 23, police were contacted in reference to a semi driving erratically on I-90 that had exited at the Coffee Cup exit. Officer searched the area for the semi and was unable to locate.
On August 23, police were contacted in reference to an alarm at the museum. Officer responded and found workers had tripped the alarm on accident, false alarm.
On August 24, while conducting business checks officer found an open door. Door was secured and officer cleared.
