Kids registered for classes last week, with Principal Teresa Brown reporting to the school board that more than 500 students were registered at Moorcroft’s two schools as the year began. At the MK-8, kids and parents found their classrooms, met their teachers and enjoyed a snack of hotdogs and chips. The year started early for 2019, according to Crook County District 1 superintendent Mark Broderson, because almost every holiday falls in the middle of the week – both Christmas and New Year are on a Wednesday and “you can’t have school on Monday and not the rest of the week”. He assures parents that next year, the schedule will again commence on the third week of August.
