Della Long

Della Long, a long-time resident of Kaycee, WY, passed away June 27, 2019 at the age of 76 with her loving husband at her side. She had won her battle with cancer and was celebrating life when an infection took her.

Della was born May 7, 1943 to the late Marna and Vernon Eitel in Gillette, Wyoming. She was the youngest of three children. Della graduated from Moorcroft High School in May 1961.

55 years ago, she married the lover of her life, Harvey G. Long. They lived an adventurous life in the early days. Then settled down in Kaycee in 1972. They were blessed with three children; daughters, Penny and Candi and son, Mike.

She lived everyday as a blessing to her family and her family was her most valuable treasures. Della had a special way of loving and understanding everyone and their situations.

She was blessed with four grandsons Eric, Lance, Colter and Marcus, and two other grandchildren, Alex and Tye, who joined her family later in life; as well as four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Ammarie, Aiden and Karizmah. 

Della was an active member of the Kaycee Community. She worked at the school as a lunchroom cook then became the book keeper for the family business, H-D Long Trucking.

She was always willing to help out and step-up to represent Kaycee. She was an avid crocheter with a talent to turn yarn into beautiful art pieces. Her family and friends will always feel her warmth and presence in her crocheted gifts. 

She is survived by her husband, Harvey; children, Penny and Jim Macormic, Candi Long, Mike and Kelly Long; Grandchildren, Eric Macormic, Colter and Stephanie Macormic, Lance Long, Marcus Long, Alex Arnold and Tye Busskohl, Kylie Carter, Ammarie and Aiden Long and Karizmah Mousseau; plus, her favorite four legged friend, Missy.
