Moorcroft Police Report

June 17 - 30

On June 16, police were called for a welfare check on a man lying on the ground near the swing set in Robinson Park. Upon officer’s arrival, there was no man lying on the ground in the park or surrounding area. Unfounded.

On June 17, police assisted Crook County Family Violence by conducting a welfare check.

On June 17, police were contacted in reference to several children riding bikes and playing in the street in the area of Lomac and Goshen. Complainant was concerned for the children’s safety as that area has heavy traffic and could be dangerous. Officer made contact with residents in the area who have small children and advised of the concern.

On June 18, police were given a wallet that was found at Diehl’s Supermarket. Owner of the wallet was contacted and they retrieved their belongings.

On June 20, police were contacted in reference to a hit and run – car vs dog. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with witnesses who stated the owner picked the dog up and took them to a vet. Unable to locate vehicle that struck the animal.

On June 20, police were contacted by an employee at the Coffee Cup requesting a welfare check on a male who possibly needed medical assistance. Officer arrived on scene and it was determined that an ambulance was not necessary and the male would be taken to the hospital by a friend that was with him.

On June 21, police were given two license plates that were found alongside the road. Owner of the plates was contacted and they came to the police department and retrieved their belongings.

On June 21, police assisted with a funeral procession.

On June 21, police assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Office with a credit card fraud investigation.

On June 23, police were contacted in reference to a break-in. Officers arrived on scene and searched the residence for anyone inside. While speaking with the property owner, a lady approached an officer and advised her children were inside the residence along with three other children. An officer spoke with the children and they admitted to being inside of the residence. The owner and the parent decided to come to a civil agreement to fix and clean up the mess that was made.

On June 23, police were asked to do a welfare check on a man staying at a local motel. Unable to locate the subject’s vehicle at the motel, Officer found the vehicle at Coffee Cup. Officer made contact with the subject and asked dispatch to page out Moorcroft Ambulance Service to come check on the subject also. After EMS arrived it was decided that the subject needed to be transferred to the hospital. Officer cleared once ambulance left the scene.

On June 23, police assisted a traveler in need with the Emergency Fund.

On June 24, a black dog was brought to the Police Department by a resident who caught him running at large near their home. Dog had a Town of Moorcroft animal tag. Owner was contacted and the dog was picked up at the police department.

On June 25, police unlocked a car for a motorist who had locked their keys inside.

On June 25, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.

On June 26, officer saw two juveniles riding a small 4-wheeler through an alley. Officer made contact with the mother of the children and advised her of the laws that were being broken and also advised that the children needed helmets when riding. Mother stated she would take care of it.

On June 27, police assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with a traffic hazard in the passing lane on I-90.

On June 29, police assisted Moorcroft Emergency Services with an emergency call.
