The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming

Joshua Patrick Donnell

Our beloved son Joshua Patrick Donnell, age 13, of Carlile, Wyoming, took his own life on June 23, 2019, at his home in Carlile. Josh suffered for years with depression; may he rest in peace now without sadness in the arms of our Lord.

Josh was born November 26, 2005, in Fairfax County, Virginia, to Douglas and Jessica Donnell. The family moved to Carlile in May 2009 to live rurally.

Josh attended Moorcroft K8 school from kindergarten until seventh grade this year when he transferred to Hulett School. Josh attended First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft with his family where he attended LOGOS and JR High Youth Group. He loved helping out in the nursery as he loved children and never passed up an opportunity to play with them.

Josh was a member of the Carlile Wranglers 4-H Club where he participated in the Market Lamb program for several years. He also showed rabbits and pigs on occasion at the Crook County Fair. Josh enjoyed dirt bikes, skiing and scuba diving. He loved to play football and wrestled.

Joshua is survived by his parents; his brother, Samuel; his great grandmother, Lorraine Hazen of Bradford, Pennsylvania; grandmother, Sally Donnell of Sun City, Arizona; grandparents, Gerald and Jacklyn Hazen of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania; aunt, Joanna Donnell of Seligman, Arizona; aunt and uncle, Jennifer Hazen and Michael DiLonardo of Italy; uncle and aunt, Jeremy and Joelle Hazen of Cresco, Pennsylvania; cousins, Jentra and Sophia DiLonardo (Romelo Santini and baby Zeno) all of Italy and Michellina Hazen of Cresco and many great aunts and uncles and cousins. Joshua is preceded in death by his grandfather, Glenn Donnell.

A memorial service will be held July 3 at 1 p.m. in the Moorcroft Town Center gymnasium officiated by Pastor Monte Reichenberg. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Women's Resource Center in Gillette, WY. This charity was very important to Joshua.
