After last week’s meeting of the council, Public Works Director Cory Allison was directed to stop all work by Black Hills Energy within town limits until the myriad complaints about the sub-par work by their contractor, E&S, are addressed.
Black Hills Energy Gillette operations supervisor Scott Wilson, who had been the liaison between the town and the contractor, was unavailable to answer the issue, but another individual contacted Mayor Dick Claar in an effort to start work again, he says.
According to Claar, the representative agreed to ensure the presence of a spokesperson at the May 27 meeting to address all issues if the town allows the contractor to complete all work in the interim. With the work having been allowed by council to continue, the contractor will be held responsible by Black Hills on behalf of the town according to the franchise agreement Moorcroft has with the natural gas company.
