The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
Pine Haven celebrated the National Day of Prayer to an audience of more than 20 guests last Thursday morning.
Mary Hancock orchestrated the event with a full agenda of singing, reciting the proclamations of the president as well as the governor and iterating a short history of this honored day.
Over the subsequent hour, many local religious leaders stood to pray with one guiding theme for the community: "Love one another". Several others shared prayers for all aspects of the lives of Americans including family and church, government, military, media, business and education.
The solemnity of the occasion was tangible as the speakers and audience shared the prayers spoken, standing unified in their appreciation of and supplication to God.
The Moorcroft High School Choir was scheduled to attend, but were unable to unable to participate due to testing.
In the interest of warmth, the assembly was moved inside the town hall this year with hot coffee and cookies.
