The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
The clerks of Moorcroft and Pine Haven fulfill an important role and a myriad of critical functions on the behalf of residents and council alike and, in recognition of their efforts, the governing bodies have chosen to honor these individuals during fiftieth anniversary of the internationally recognized Clerks Week, May 5 - 11.
The proclamation cites that the clerk "serves as the professional link between the citizen, local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels ...Continually striving to improve the administration of their duties through participation in education programs, seminars, workshops and annual meetings of their state, province, county and international professional organizations".
Moorcroft's clerks include Cheryl Schneider, Clerk/Treasurer, who started in the office in January of 2016 during a time of turmoil at the council level. She practices diplomacy and tact even as she was learning how to conduct her business well.
She has become a member of IIMC (a professional association of city, town, village, borough, deputy and county clerks) and WAMCAT to further her education and understanding of the responsibilities of her office into the future.
Her deputy is Jodi Clark, who has worked for the town since September of 2017 and gives to the town a passion to understand the issues her office faces and work with her associates to better help Moorcroft's citizens. She, too, is a member of WAMCAT.
Jesse Connally, municipal court and police clerk, is on hand to assist the clerk's office when needed and has been working as a town department clerk since May of 2005. She has also been a volunteer for the Moorcroft Ambulance Department.
Barb Hardy and Marilyn Jensen make up the clerk's office of Pine Haven. Hardy has worked as Clerk/Treasurer since March, 2009.
Pine Haven recently separated the positions of clerk and treasurer, making Hardy treasurer. She excels at managing the town's books and applying for grants and is a member of WAMCAT. She has also been an integral member of the Pine Haven Volunteer Emergency Medical Service as an EMT for many years.
Jensen began working for the town in January of 2016 and is the town's clerk and always greets the public and fellow employees with a smile. She is also a member of WAMCAT.
