The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming
May 3 is Moorcroft Community Clean-up Day and everyone is getting ready! This is your opportunity to get rid of that old easy chair that's been sitting in the garage for a year or the used oil you have been conscientiously saving in a barrel instead of dumping on the ground after caring for your ride.
From 9 a.m. until noon, neighborhood volunteers as well as Moorcroft High School students and staff will be picking up trash from the curb to take to the landfill. Bring old furniture and other similar items to the curb to be hauled away for free.
Ted and Rhonda Manke, owners of Quality Hardware, are again donating a collection site for old appliances, scrap metal, old batteries and used oil in their parking lot. Please remember all appliances MUST be deposited into the scrap metal bin and NO refrigerators, air conditioners or freezers can be accepted. By maintaining these specific rules, this beneficial program can continue helping the community.
Pinnacle Bank and the Moorcroft Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a tail-gate party for the volunteers from noon until 1 p.m.
As in previous years, the Town of Moorcroft will not charge dumping fees on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. A town water bill must be presented to receive this deal.
The chamber is asking for more volunteers to participate in this event Wednesday morning. Anyone who wants to join in the fun is asked to meet the rest of the team in the south parking lot of the high school at 8:30 a.m. on May 3.
