April 15-21
On April 15, police received a report of two missing juvenile females who had not returned home after school. After receiving all information and informing dispatch and other county units, officer went out to search for the children. While searching, police received a call that they were found at one of the town parks. Officer made contact with the juveniles and called their father. Officer met with the father and his children at the office and spoke to the children about the importance of letting their parents know where they are going.
On April 16, police were contacted to do a welfare check on someone who had fallen in the street. Upon arrival, officer met with the complainant who stated they almost hit someone who was walking in the street. Officer made contact with the subject and ran their information with Dispatch. Dispatched advised they had a warrant for their arrest out of Campbell County. Officer arrested the subject on the warrant and transported them to Rozet. Officer met up with a Campbell County Deputy where custody of subject was transferred to the deputy. Nothing further.
On April 16, police were called to the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop for a report of a suspicious person. Officer made contact with the person in question and after speaking with them the officer felt the person needed to be checked out by EMS as they didn’t seem quite right. EMS arrived on scene and after their evaluation determined that the person needed to be taken to the hospital. Officer cleared the call as soon as EMS left the scene.
On April 17, police located two stray dogs walking around Town Hall. Officer was able to catch one of the dogs and was able to make contact with the owner and the owner came to the office and picked up their dog. Nothing further.
On April 18, Police were notified of a dog bite report from Gillette Animal Shelter. Officer made contact with the victim who stated they were bitten by a dog while delivering a package to a home in Moorcroft, and had to go to the clinic to have their wounds checked. Officer made contact with the owner and gave them two citations, Vicious Dog and Failure to License Animal.
On April 18, police were notified of a traffic crash in the parking lot at the Moorcroft High School. Officer arrived on scene and took report of the incident.
On April 20, officer was called to a civil issue between neighbors. Officer listened to both parties and reiterated that their issue was civil and they needed to figure out a way to live as neighbors or avoid each other.
