Wolves chasing the mark

On Friday, April 5, the Moorcroft Wolves track team crossed state lines to compete in the Spearfish Queen City Classic Track Meet. It was an ideal day for this fast-paced meet and our Wolves represented well.

Grayson Osmon placed ninth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.55 seconds, beating out almost 50 other runners. He also ran the 200 meter dash with the time of 23.83 seconds, just shy of scoring contention

In the girls’ 400 meter dash, Hailey Jones placed fourth with the time of 1:02.55 and she took first place in the 800 meter run with the time of 2:25.75.

The 4x200 relay team of Amanda Otto, April Miller, Char Cranston and Kaylee Terry earned points with their eighth place finish with the time of 1:57.92. The sprint medley relay team of Grace Breaux, Kaylee Terry, Jordan Jones and Hailey Jones swept the track when they took first place with the time of 4:33.32 in the most fun race to watch happen.

There have been many personal bests that haven’t been bettered and new marks to chase. Come support the track team when the Wolves travel to Wright on Tuesday, April 16 to compete in the Wright Pre-Easter Invite.

This is one of two Junior High and High School combo meets. Then, they will have a busy week the following week to Belle Fourche on Tuesday the 23rd, to Wright on the 26th and to Sturgis on the 27th.
