Spring concert showcases pride

The Moorcroft K-8 hosted their annual spring concert last Tuesday in conjunction with an art showing along the halls through which visitors could walk as they appreciated the works on display.

There were many mediums demonstrated along the walls including clay, coloring and sketching. James McCauley discussed the making of his clay pieces. He had made coasters, a bowl and a cup, using both slab and coil design. "There were different things we could make, but I didn't have much time so I decided to make coasters, [bowl and cup] with designs," he said.

As guests began to assemble in the gymnasium for the concert, the band found their respective seats off stage and prepared to open the show. Havilah Wiseman sat among the wind instruments, straight backed and confident. She started with the band this year. She said she joined because, "my friend was learning a flute so I learned the flute."

The kids sang to a full house and every class, from Kindergarten to fifth grade, sang with great heart and voice.
