Pistol found near K-8 entrance

At approximately 6:30 p.m. last Friday, a .357 Magnum was found in the middle of South Little Horn Avenue near the entrance of the K-8 parking lot.

The weapon had apparently fallen, breaking apart the wooden grips, before coming to rest, still in the leather holster.

The revolver was fully loaded with the alternative .38 special “light load”.

The Moorcroft Elementary School does not entertain any formal gun safety classes within their curriculum, said Principal Teresa Brown.

“When a kid is playing like with their finger for a pistol, we tell them that we never point guns, even pretend guns, at anybody,” she says,

“I would think that in this county, the parents would take care of telling their kids not to play with guns.”

The firearm was subsequently unloaded and turned over to the Moorcroft Police Department.
