Moorcroft Police Report

February 25 - March 3

On February 27, police were called to the Moorcroft High School for a student who had been caught with alcohol and tobacco. Officer met with the student and staff at the Moorcroft High School, the student was cited for minor in possession of alcohol and minor in possession of tobacco.

On February 28, police were called in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked in the middle of the street at the corner of Goshen and Powder River. Upon arrival, officer found the vehicle parked in the road with the driver laid back sleeping. Officer woke the driver up, driver stated he was fine, just tired. Officer gave driver directions to the truck stop so he could rest.

On February 28, officer dispatched a deer that was injured by a vehicle.

On March 1, during a traffic stop for lane use it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Driver was arrested for DUI and transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On March 3, police were contacted by a resident who had found a weapon in the middle of the road outside of their house. Officer met with the resident and secured the weapon. Nothing further at this time.
