On Friday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Sundance to take on the Bulldogs. The Wolves jumped out to an early lead, but gave some of it up and went into the half up, 21-18.
We definitely had our opportunities in the first half; we didn’t convert like we needed to and that allowed them to stay in the game. The Wolves played well in the third quarter, but found themselves in foul trouble in the fourth quarter.
Sundance came back and tied the game late into the quarter, but the Wolves were able to get a couple of key rebounds and convert free throws for the 50-47 victory. We definitely didn’t play like we were capable of, but it was a complete team effort.
Because of foul trouble, some girls saw some big minutes in the fourth quarter; we gutted it out and did what needed to be done for the win. The Lady Wolves finish the regular season, 14-8.
They will go into the Regional Tournament this week as the #3 seed and face the #2 seed Pine Bluffs in Wright at 5:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Regionals will be in Wright on Thursday and then Gillette on Friday and Saturday. We need to put everything together that we have been working on all season. It’s the time of the season where we have to be playing our best game. We are excited about this opportunity.
Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
